Who Can Submit to Tribeca Games?

Developers and studios in the United States and internationally, with an unreleased game. It is particularly relevant to:

  • Narrative designers and story-driven indie studios
  • Developers of experimental and artistic games
  • VR and AR creators
  • Teams whose work crosses film, animation and games

What Can You Submit?

Unreleased games for web, console, virtual reality, augmented reality and mobile. Tribeca defines story broadly, including narrative, world building and artistic excellence, and welcomes cross-medium work and unusual uses of technology. Tabletop games are not accepted. Only unreleased projects are considered for exhibition.

Entry Fees

  • Early (by 28 October 2026): $40
  • Official (by 2 December 2026): $60
  • Extended (by 4 March 2027): $80

Deadlines are at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

What Do Selected Games Receive?

  • Official Selection at the Tribeca Festival 2027, with exhibition to festival audiences
  • Press and industry exposure in New York
  • D.I.C.E. Awards consideration, with a waived fee if the game meets D.I.C.E. rules and is released in the calendar year
  • Possible consideration for the Tribeca Creators Market

Submission Requirements

Submit through the official Tribeca submissions page, where the full rules, regulations and eligibility are published. Prepare a playable build or access, a trailer and a description that explains what makes your game's story distinctive.

Why Submit?

Tribeca brings games into a cultural festival setting, alongside film, TV and immersive work. That gives selected games a different kind of visibility from a game show: critics, filmmakers and audiences who might never visit a games convention. The automatic D.I.C.E. consideration is a further advantage for small studios.

What Makes a Strong Submission?

Tribeca looks for games where story is central, but story can mean many things: a branching narrative, a world that tells its history through its spaces, or a purely visual experience with a strong emotional arc. The strongest submissions make that ambition clear within the first minutes of play, and the accompanying description explains why the game matters now. A short, well-edited trailer helps programmers understand the experience before they play.

About Tribeca Festival

The Tribeca Festival was founded in New York in 2002 and has grown into a festival of film, TV, games, audio storytelling and immersive work. Its games programme has presented story-driven titles from both independent creators and major studios, making it a showcase for games as a narrative art form.

Things to Consider

  • Submit early: fees rise at each deadline.
  • Lead with story: explain the narrative or artistic ambition clearly.
  • Keep it unreleased: released games are not eligible for exhibition.
  • Think about D.I.C.E.: check the release-year rules if you want award consideration.
  • No tabletop: analogue games are not accepted.
