Who Can Enter the Graphis Design Awards?

  • Brand and identity designers with complete systems to show
  • Packaging and editorial designers
  • Type designers and typographers
  • Studios that use awards in pitches and new business

What Can You Enter?

A single image can be a poster, a book or magazine cover, a single ad, a logo or another piece that stands alone. A series can be a branding programme, a campaign, a poster series, or a book, brochure or magazine with a cover and up to six interior spreads. Motion graphics and video are entered as links.

Awards

Entries compete for Platinum, Gold and Silver awards. Graphis publishes winning work, and its books and website are used by art directors and design professionals around the world as a reference.

Is It Worth Entering?

Like most commercial design awards, the fees add up quickly when entering several projects. The awards suit studios and designers who can use international recognition with clients, and those whose work is strongest as a complete system shown in a series. Students should look at the Graphis New Talent Awards instead.

Preparing Your Entry

Present your work clearly and consistently: show the system as a whole, then key applications. Use clean, high-resolution photography of printed and built work, and make sure client work can be entered. Choose the category that best fits the main purpose of the project.

Choosing What to Enter

Pick projects that show a clear idea carried through with care, rather than the most expensive or best-known client work. Identity systems and editorial projects often work best as a series, showing the logo, typography and key applications together. Packaging should be photographed well, both as a range and in detail. For digital work, short screen recordings or clear screenshots help the jury understand the experience. Write a short, plain description of the brief and the solution for each entry.

Studios and In-House Teams

Studios entering several projects should plan a budget and consider membership, which halves the fees. In-house teams should check with their brand or legal team that work can be submitted and credited.

Credits and Permissions

Before you enter commissioned work, check that the client and any agency agree, and gather full credits: client, agency, art director, creative director and any collaborators. Accurate credits matter if your work is selected and published, and they help the jury understand who did what.

Things to Consider

  • Fees per entry; members save 50%.
  • Series suit identity and editorial work.
  • Students have a separate competition.
  • Deadline: 2 March 2027.
