Fluxus Art Projects supports projects that promote the contemporary French art scene in the United Kingdom and the contemporary British art scene in France. It funds exhibition projects with grants of £1,000 to £10,000, and curatorial research trips with £1,000 each. The current call is for projects taking place between January and June 2027, and it closes at midnight on 24 November 2026.

Calls open twice a year, and deadlines are announced on the organisation's website and social media.

Key Dates

27 October 2026 — Call opened
24 November 2026, midnight — Deadline
January – June 2027 — Period for supported projects

Exhibition Project Grants

  • Amount: £1,000 to £10,000
  • Share of costs: no more than 50% of the project's expenses, and at least 5% of its total budget
  • Eligible costs: production, fees, transport, travel, accommodation, communication and publication
  • Who applies: the organising institution or association, not the artists

Eligible organisations include non-profit art centres, museums, cultural institutions, research centres, online projects and artists' publications.

Curatorial Research Trips

  • Amount: £1,000 per trip
  • Who applies: curators directly
  • Eligibility: French nationals or people based in France for at least five years, or British nationals or people based in the UK for at least five years, with at least three years of professional experience, or clear evidence of significant professional practice in contemporary art, in an organisation or as an independent curator

Curators affiliated with an institution must provide its permission to travel for the research.

Who Can Apply for Fluxus Art Projects Funding?

Non-profit art organisations in France and the UK planning an exhibition that crosses the Channel, and curators from either country who want to research the other's contemporary art scene. Artists cannot apply for exhibition grants themselves; they need a host organisation to apply.

The Magnetic Residencies

The organisation also runs the Magnetic residencies, now in their fifth year, which pair a French region with a UK nation. Artists can only apply for the residency linked to where they are based. Those calls follow their own timetable.

How to Apply

Read the guidelines on its website and apply through the online form during the open call. For exhibitions, prepare a clear description of the project, the artists involved, a full budget showing other funding sources, and dates. For research trips, outline your research question, where you want to go and why, and how it could lead to future projects.

Tips for Applying

Show the cross-Channel exchange clearly: who is French, who is British, and how audiences in the other country will benefit. Because the grant covers half the costs at most, include confirmed co-funding. Curators should be specific about the artists, studios and institutions they plan to visit.

Who It Suits

The grants suit small and medium-sized non-profit spaces, artist-run centres and publishers that want to show French artists in the UK or British artists in France, and independent curators who need a first research trip to build relationships across the Channel. Because the organisation funds both sides, a project can start in either country. Use the research trip to meet artists, visit studios and talk to institutions, then come back with a stronger exhibition proposal in a later call.

Next Calls

Calls open twice a year, so if you miss this one, plan for the next round.

Things to Consider
