Nordic Game 2027
UpcomingStarts 25 MayNordic Game 2027 (NG27) runs 25–28 May at Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden: four days of game development talks, summits, an indie expo and the Nordic Game Awards. Early bird pass €249.

Nordic Game is one of Europe's leading conferences for game developers, held every spring in Malmö, Sweden. The 2027 edition, NG27, runs from Tuesday 25 to Friday 28 May at Slagthuset, a former slaughterhouse next to Malmö Central Station that is now the conference's home. Over four days, developers from the Nordic countries and the rest of the world meet for talks on several stages, business meetings, summits, an expo and the Nordic Game Awards.
Early bird full passes are on sale for €249 (excluding VAT), which makes it one of the more affordable major games conferences in Europe.
About Nordic Game
The Nordic region has an outsized influence on games: studios from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland have made some of the most successful and inventive games of the last two decades. The conference grew up alongside that scene and has become its annual meeting point, combining a developer conference with a strong business side. It is known for a friendly, open atmosphere, where established studio heads, indie developers and students mix in the same corridors.
What to Expect at NG27
- Speaker programme across multiple stages, covering design, art, production, technology and business
- Exec Summit for studio leaders
- Games Capital Summit on investment and funding
- Games Policy Summit on regulation and public support for games
- NG27 Expo, with showcase opportunities for indie developers
- Meeting system and lounges for networking and business meetings
- The Nordic Game Awards Show, celebrating the best Nordic games of the year
- Special sessions, including a live edition of Simon Parkin's "My Perfect Console" and a returning AI track
Nordic Game for Artists and Designers
For game designers and artists, NG27 offers a programme grounded in real production. Speakers from Nordic studios talk openly about how their games were made, from early prototypes to art direction and live operations. Because the event is smaller than the giant trade shows, it is easier to approach speakers after their talks and have a proper conversation.
The expo is a good way to see what independent teams are working on, and to show your own game if you are one of them. Watch the official website for showcase opportunities and their deadlines.
Who Is It For?
- Game designers, artists and developers
- Indie studios looking for publishers, funding or partners
- Studio leaders, producers and investors
- Students and graduates from game programmes
- Policy makers and organisations supporting games
Passes and Registration
A full pass gives access to the whole four-day programme. The early bird price is €249 excluding VAT for a limited time; prices increase closer to the event. Registration is on the official website, where other pass types and group options are listed.
Tips for Visiting
Use the meeting system to book appointments before you arrive; the best slots go early. Prepare a short demo or a pitch deck if you are looking for funding or a publisher. Leave time for the evening events, where many of the most useful conversations happen.
If you are a student, look out for discounts and volunteer opportunities, and bring a portfolio link that works well on a phone.
Planning Your Visit
Slagthuset is right beside Malmö Central Station, so the venue is easy to reach by train, including directly from Copenhagen Airport across the Øresund Bridge in about twenty minutes. Malmö is compact and walkable, and hotels near the station are convenient for the conference. Late May is usually pleasant in southern Sweden, with long light evenings.
