miart milano 2027
UpcomingStarts 9 Aprmiart milano 2027, Milan's international modern and contemporary art fair, runs 9–11 April at Allianz MiCo under new artistic director Cloe Piccoli, during Milano Art Week.

miart is Milan's international fair for modern and contemporary art, and its 2027 edition, renamed miart milano, takes place at Allianz MiCo from 9 to 11 April 2027. It is the first edition under artistic director Cloe Piccoli, appointed for a three-year term, who is reshaping the fair with new sections, a redesigned layout and closer ties with the city's galleries, foundations and institutions.
The fair coincides with the 11th edition of Milano Art Week, when museums, foundations and galleries across the city open exhibitions at the same time.
About miart
miart has long been the main art fair of Milan, a city with a strong gallery scene, world-class private foundations and a large community of collectors. The new name, miart milano, signals a closer relationship with the city. Its organiser, Fiera Milano, also runs some of the largest trade fairs in Europe.
For 2027, an international architecture studio is redesigning the route through the fair, its access points and the visitor experience, and the Fondazione Fiera Milano is adding a new €50,000 prize for Italian artists to its acquisition fund.
What to Expect
- Atlas of the Arts: the main section, covering art across media and periods
- New Voices: galleries presenting emerging artists
- Close Up: solo presentations of living artists, or shows made with artists' estates
- In & Out Citywide: temporary installations in public spaces across Milan
- On Film: moving-image works shown in a small on-site cinema
- Editions, Publishers & Magazines: a space for art publishing
2027 Programme
The fair runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April 2027, at the end of Milano Art Week. Before it, the new direction is launching a series of talks, including a cycle with curator Francesco Bonami and a programme with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. The list of galleries and the full programme are published on the official miart website ahead of the fair.

Tips for Artists and Students
For artists, miart is a good place to understand the Italian gallery system, which mixes historic galleries with young spaces showing emerging artists. Spend time in New Voices to see who is being shown for the first time, and in Close Up to see how a single artist's work is presented in depth.
Make the most of the art week. Milan's private foundations, such as Fondazione Prada and Pirelli HangarBicocca, often open major exhibitions in the same days, and galleries across the city hold openings. Many of these are free, and they give a broader view of contemporary art than any fair can.
Planning Your Visit
Allianz MiCo is in the CityLife district of Milan, close to the Portello area and easily reached by metro (lines M1 and M5). Plan one day for the fair and a few more for the city, as Milano Art Week fills the calendar with openings and events. Hotels are busy in April, partly because Milan Design Week follows soon after, so book early.
