Design Miami is the world's leading fair for collectible design, and its 22nd edition returns to its home city, Miami Beach, from 1 to 6 December 2026. In a pavilion at Pride Park, next to the Miami Beach Convention Center, galleries present museum-quality furniture, lighting and objects, from 20th-century classics by famous architects and designers to limited editions and one-off pieces by living makers.

This year's theme is "Unveiling", with a focus on discovery, material innovation and craftsmanship.

About Design Miami

The fair was founded in 2005 to run alongside Art Basel Miami Beach, and the two still take place in the same week. It helped create the market for "collectible design": furniture and objects treated like works of art, made in small numbers and bought by collectors and museums. Design Miami now also holds editions in Paris and Seoul, and runs year-round programmes, but Miami Beach remains its flagship.

What to Expect

  • Gallery presentations: furniture, lighting and objects from the 20th and 21st centuries, from modernist icons to contemporary studio work
  • Curio: small exhibitions, like cabinets of curiosities, created by designers, curators and galleries
  • Material innovation: works in clay, glass, metal, wood, textiles and new materials, often made by hand
  • Talks: conversations with designers, curators and collectors
  • Brand collaborations: installations and special projects by design brands and institutions

2026 Programme

Design Miami runs from Tuesday 1 to Sunday 6 December 2026, with the first days reserved for collectors, press and invited guests. The public days follow, overlapping with Art Basel Miami Beach (4–6 December). The list of galleries, the Curio presentations and the talks programme are published on the official website ahead of the fair.

Who Is It For?

  • Furniture, lighting and product designers interested in limited editions
  • Craftspeople and makers working in ceramics, glass, wood and metal
  • Interior designers and architects looking for unique pieces
  • Collectors of design and design-curious art collectors
  • Design students: the fair is an inspiring overview of contemporary making

Tickets

Tickets are sold on the official website. Listings for 2026 show prices from about $22.50 to $40; check the official site for the ticket types, opening hours and any combined offers with Miami Art Week events.

Tips for Designers and Makers

For designers, the fair shows a very different route from industrial production. Instead of designing for mass manufacture, many of the makers shown here produce a small number of pieces by hand, often with galleries that represent them like artists. Look at how these galleries describe the work: the materials, the process and the story behind each piece matter as much as the form.

Pay attention to the Curio presentations. They are often where younger designers and smaller galleries appear, and they show how a strong curatorial idea can make a small display memorable.

If you make objects yourself, bring a notebook and photograph the details that interest you, such as joints, finishes and surfaces. And remember that the whole of Miami Art Week is open to you: design shows, museum exhibitions and talks across the city make it easy to fill several days.

Planning Your Visit

The fair is smaller than Art Basel Miami Beach, so two or three hours are usually enough to see it properly. Because the two fairs sit next to each other, many visitors see both on the same day: design in the morning, when it is calmer, and Art Basel in the afternoon. Take time with the wall texts and catalogues: galleries often explain the history of a piece, its maker and the techniques used. Photography is generally allowed, but ask before photographing details up close.

Things to Know

  • Location: Pride Park is on Convention Center Drive, beside the Miami Beach Convention Center, so you can combine Design Miami with Art Basel Miami Beach.
  • Traffic: the first week of December is very busy; use trolleys, bikes or ride-hailing.
  • Hours: check the official site, as preview and public days have different times.
  • Hotels: book early, as prices peak during Art Week.
  • Weather: December in Miami is warm; dress lightly but bring a layer for air-conditioned halls.
