The Theme: Facades of Madrid
The organisers invite photographers to rediscover Madrid through its buildings and to look closely at what often goes unnoticed: balconies, weathered walls, geometric compositions and unexpected corners. Each image should show how facades shape the character, history and everyday beauty of the city. Photos must be taken in Madrid.
Prizes
- Eurostars Madrid Tower Prize: €5,000 and a trophy
- Grupo Hotusa Prize: €3,000 and a trophy, chosen by the organising company
- Eight runner-up awards: a trophy and one night, with breakfast, at a Eurostars hotel of the winner's choice
Prize money is subject to Spanish income tax withholding. The winning images are printed for an exhibition.

How to Enter the Eurostars Madrid Tower Award
Fill in the form on the award page with your contact details, the title of each photo and where it was taken, then upload your images. The form can take a few seconds to confirm, so do not press send twice.
Photographing Facades
Facades reward patience and a close look. Walk the same street at different times of day: low morning or evening light brings out texture and relief, while overcast days suit colour and detail. Look for repetition, such as rows of balconies or windows, and for contrasts between old and new buildings side by side. Shoot straight on for graphic compositions, or correct converging verticals in editing so that buildings stand upright. Because winners are printed 45 cm high in a wide format, compose with the 3:2 or 3:1 crop in mind and use the highest image quality your camera allows.
