Concrete in Life Photography Competition 2026/27
Open for entriesConcrete in Life 2026/27 is a free global photography competition about concrete in everyday life: three categories, a $10,000 top prize and a $5,000 People's Vote. Deadline: 4 December 2026.

Concrete in Life is a free international photography competition run by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). The 2026/27 edition asks photographers to show how concrete shapes the world around us: the cities we live in, the infrastructure we rely on, the buildings and sculptures we admire, and the everyday moments that happen on and around it. Entry is free, phones are welcome, and the deadline is 4 December 2026.
The overall winner receives $10,000, each category winner $2,500, and a People's Vote, chosen by the public from the shortlist, is worth $5,000.

- People's Vote: $5,000
- One prize per person: if you win more than one, you receive the highest
Submission Requirements
Take a photo of concrete in your life, upload it through the entry form on the official page and choose a category. Photos must be your own original work, taken with a camera or phone. Images generated by artificial intelligence are not accepted, and GCCA may ask for original files or metadata. Recognisable people need documented consent, and photos must not show alcohol, tobacco, drugs or weapons.
Rights and Usage
By entering, you agree that GCCA, its sponsors and members may post your photo online and use it in promotional materials. You can withdraw consent for future use by email. Read the full terms before entering.
Why Enter?
Free competitions with prizes of this size are rare. The theme is broad enough for architecture, street, documentary and abstract photography, and the categories reward both striking design and everyday human moments.
How to Stand Out
Look beyond the obvious. Brutalist buildings and bridges will be popular; human stories, textures, light and unexpected uses of concrete can be more memorable. Think about the category: a skate park at sunset may suit Concrete in Daily Life better than Urban and Infrastructure. Keep the edit natural and make sure the image works at small sizes, as the People's Vote will be seen on phones.
Ideas to Get Started
Walk your own neighbourhood with the categories in mind. Look for patterns in car parks and stairwells, people resting on steps and benches, children playing on public squares, or old infrastructure softened by plants and weather. Early morning and evening light bring out the texture of concrete, and rain turns grey surfaces into reflections.
Things to Consider
- Free entry: no payment required.
- Age: 18 or over.
- No AI images: keep your original files.
- Consent: get permission from recognisable people.
- Deadline: 4 December 2026.
