Open for entriesThe Animayo Gran Canaria 2027 Poster Contest picks the official poster of the animation, VFX and video game festival: €500 for the winner. Free, open worldwide from age 16. Deadline: 31 December 2026.

The Animayo poster contest chooses the official image of Animayo Gran Canaria, an international summit and festival of animation, visual effects and video games in the Canary Islands. For the 22nd edition, held from 5 to 8 May 2027, designers and illustrators worldwide are invited to create a poster on ideas and creativity through inspiration, fantasy and technology. The winner receives €500 and sees their poster become the festival's identity. Entry is free and the deadline is 31 December 2026 at 23:59 Canary Islands time.
Festival posters are one of the most visible commissions an illustrator or designer can win: the image appears across the city, online and in the festival's printed material. Animayo opens the commission to anyone aged 16 or over, from any country.
Selected finalists may also be shown in an exhibition during the festival.

About Animayo
Animayo is an annual summit and international film festival of animation, visual effects and video games held in Gran Canaria, Spain. Alongside screenings and awards it runs talks and masterclasses with professionals from the animation and games industries, and it travels with international editions. The festival poster is its main visual identity for the year, used on streets, screens and printed material, so the winning design is seen by a large international audience of animators and artists.
Things to Consider
- Design for a poster, not a screen. The image must read from a distance on a street.
- Plan the logo strip. The bottom 15% will be covered; compose around it.
- Make both formats work. The vertical and horizontal versions should feel like one identity.
- Keep your source files ready. Finalists have only five days to deliver them.
- Read the rights clause. The winning poster is used across the festival's communication.
