Frieze Los Angeles 2027
UpcomingStarts 25 FebFrieze Los Angeles 2027, the fair's eighth edition, runs 25–28 February at the Santa Monica Airport campus with about 100 US and international galleries and Focus, a section for young US galleries.

Frieze Los Angeles is the West Coast's leading international art fair, and its eighth edition takes place from 25 to 28 February 2027 at the Santa Monica Airport campus. About 100 galleries from Los Angeles, the rest of the United States and around the world present contemporary art in a large temporary structure by the runway, with a programme of talks, film and public projects.
About Frieze Los Angeles
Frieze was founded in London as an art magazine in 1991, and launched its first fair, Frieze London, in 2003. The company now runs fairs in London, New York, Los Angeles and Seoul. Frieze Los Angeles opened in 2019 at the Paramount Pictures Studios and moved to Santa Monica Airport in 2023, where it has grown into the anchor of an art week that includes other fairs, museum openings and gallery shows across the city.
The fair reflects Los Angeles' place as one of the world's major art cities, with many artists and galleries based in the city and a strong link to film, design and popular culture.
What to Expect
- Main galleries: leading international galleries alongside major Los Angeles galleries
- Focus: solo presentations by artists from young US galleries, selected by a curator
- Talks: conversations with artists, curators and writers
- Film and projects: artist films and special projects around the fair
- Art week: satellite fairs, museum exhibitions and gallery openings across Los Angeles
2027 Programme
The fair runs from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 February 2027, with a preview day before the public days. The list of galleries, the Focus artists and the talks are announced on the Frieze website in the weeks before the fair.

Tickets
Tickets are sold on the official Frieze website. In 2026 there were preview tickets with limited availability, weekend tickets with a First Access option and a cheaper afternoon entry, plus discounted student and child tickets and guided tours. Prices for 2027 will be published closer to the fair; buy in advance, as some ticket types sell out.
Tips for Artists and Students
For artists, the Focus section is the part to study most closely. The galleries there are young and US-based, and their artists are often showing at a major fair for the first time. Look at how a single artist is presented in a small booth, and which ideas and materials keep appearing.
Guided tours are a good option for students: they include an introduction to the market and to the artists on show, and some focus on emerging galleries. If you are on a budget, an afternoon ticket gives you enough time to see the whole fair.
Use the art week. Museums such as the Hammer, LACMA, MOCA and The Broad often open major exhibitions at the same time, and galleries in Hollywood, Culver City and downtown hold openings. Many of these events are free.
Planning Your Visit
The fair is set in one large structure, so it is easy to see in a few hours. Arrive early if you have a First Access ticket, as the first hours are the calmest, and keep the Focus section for when you have the most energy. Bring sunglasses and water for the walk from the drop-off area. If you have a full day, combine the fair with the Santa Monica galleries nearby or a museum visit in the afternoon, and check the art week calendar for openings in the evening.
Things to Know
- Getting there: Santa Monica Airport is south-east of downtown Santa Monica; shuttles, ride-hailing and bikes are the easiest options, as parking is limited.
- Distances: Los Angeles is spread out; plan your art week by neighbourhood.
- Weather: late February is mild, but evenings can be cool near the coast.
- Timing: weekend afternoons are busiest.
- Food: the fair has food and drink, and Santa Monica's restaurants are close by.
